Facebook 目前在全球有 13 亿用户，但是在中国大陆还无法正常访问。之前 Facebook 创始人兼 CEO 扎克伯格还两度访华。后来还有多名包括 COO 桑德伯格在内的高管曾经来华，甚至和决策者有过会面。今年 7 月份传言 Facebook 在北京金融街租下 800 平方米的办公室。
但是办公室的地点和规模，以及这些高官访问之后的消息表明，Facebook 在华开展的应该只是 B2B 业务。“中国的出口商和开发者都觉得 Facebook 是一个联络国际客户的好地方，我们现有的服务和支持显然还不够”，Facebook 的一个 VP Debbie Frost 曾经这样表态。
